JLL advised Yokohama International School in relocating to a new school building

Tokyo, 26 April 2022 – JLL advised Yokohama International School (YIS) on a relocation project to a new site and, as its dedicated project manager, provided a suite of project management support from the start of basic planning to its opening.

YIS is an international school founded in 1924 with approximately 700 students. With the 100th anniversary of its founding approaching, a new school building project was started with basic design and design supervising by Kengo Kuma and Associates, led by world-famous architect Kengo Kuma, and detail design by TAISEI DESIGN Planners Architects & Engineers, and the new school building was opened in January 2022.

JLL has been involved in the YIS relocation project as a dedicated project manager since 2018. JLL provided a suite of project management solutions, including architectural programming to decide basic plans and goals such as organizing requirements, zoning, functional layout, while flexibly coordinated the advanced requirements and construction periods, submitted by the architects for basic design, and detail design, the general contractor and more than 15 specialty contractors. The project was successfully completed within the budget and scheduled period.
