Property Description

The Mount Barker District Council, through its property advisors Alinea Group and JLL, invites innovative responses to the Mount Barker City Centre Catalyst Project (CCCP) Expression of Interest.

This once in a generation opportunity seeks the market to respond with suitable landholdings in the Mount Barker CBD that could support potential for a vibrant mix of both public and private uses. This includes provision for Mount Barker District Council facilities such as office, library, innovation hub and public plaza (town square). Complementary mixed uses including retail, commercial, hotel and medium density residential are both desirable and encouraged to drive both daytime and night time activation.

This dynamic mix of uses sets up the potential for a development that significantly elevates and transforms the role of the centre to have a long standing impact for the region. In doing so, it will seek to drive stronger retail and business trade and stimulate broader reinvestment across the centre.

To be eligible to take part in this Expression of Interest, proponents must demonstrate they have control over a site that is:

a.   uniform in shape

b.   in the order of 4,000sqm or more and;

c.   sits within the area identified on the marked up aerial image attached.

An Information Memorandum is available from JLL and outlines the Guiding Principles for the CCCP and more details in relation to the preferred location of the site, the evaluation criteria and the process to lodge an Expression of Interest.

Eligible developers, land owners and other interested parties are encouraged to read the Information Memorandum to ascertain whether they meet the criteria to lodge an Expression of Interest.
