Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels advises Kintetsu Group on negotiations with Marriott International

[Tokyo, 6 July 2011]


Kintetsu Group today announced that they reached a franchise agreement with Marriott International (“Marriott”) for a new Hotel to be located in the Abenobashi Terminal Building in Osaka. Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels is pleased to have successfully assisted and advised Kintetsu Group on the contract negotiations with Marriott.

The luxury hotel, scheduled to open in spring of 2014, will be a co-branded hotel with Marriott and Miyako Hotel (hotel brand of Kintetsu Group), and will be known as “Osaka Marriott Miyako Hotel.” A landmark development, the Abenobashi Terminal Building when completed will be the tallest building in Osaka, as well as the tallest building in Japan. The development, a mix use of hotel, department store, office, leisure and art is aimed to be a cutting edge hub for business and a centre for entertainment, leisure and arts. Built on the Osaka Abenobashi terminal, it will also provide direct transportation links to Kansai International Airport.
